Sports Shorts was originally created by Tyler Nelson in the fall of 2007. These sports packages featured highlights from various LTHS sports. Produced by Tyler Nelson and featuring the voice over work of David Bennett, the packages were featured on LTTV, YouTube, and FoxJox.com. Several of the Sports Shorts were featured on Fox News Chicago as the Clip of the Week.

In the winter of 2007-2008, Tyler Nelson brought in Eric Anfield to learn the ropes for Sports Shorts. Eric's production of Sports Shorts for the LT boys' basketball season gathered the attention of LT students and FoxJox.com, and Eric even won a pizza party with Corey McPherrin.

At the end of the 2007-2008 school year, Tyler and Eric were selected as finalists for the FoxJox.com Clip of the Year. They won 3rd place, splitting a $1000 prize, and they were featured on Fox News Chicago.

Since 2009, Johnny Lombardi has been producing Sports Shorts.

With all of this success and a promising group of new student producers and hosts, Sports Shorts is on the road to being one of the legends of LT.
