Operation Green was started by Tyler Nelson in 2007 as a program to inform the LTTV audience on topics relevant to environmental concerns, as well as provide tips on how to be eco-friendly.

In 2008, Joey DiFranco began producing a new season of Operation Green, featuring host Shelli Bruno. The combination of new production design, coupled with Shelli's background knowledge, helped make the new season of Operation Green a success.
