In the first episode of "Reel Talk", we discussed and reviewed "Where The Wild Things Are", "Big Fish", and "The Shining". Here are the final, average scores for those films:
"Where The Wild Things Are" received an average score of 4.07
"Big Fish" received an average score of 4.0
"The Shining" received an average score of 4.58
Descriptions for these numbers can be found here on the Reel Talk rating scale:
5 – Masterpiece - A perfect or near perfect movie. Very few movies get this rating because it is reserved for only the best of films.
4.5 – Excellent - An absolute must see film, it is hard for a movie to get this rating.
4 – Great - While it may have a few minor flaws, this film is well above average and is highly recommended.
3.5 – Good - While it has flaws this movie provides a good amount of entertainment value and holds your attention.
3 – Average - This film is utterly average. Nothing about it makes it stand out from the crowd but it's still good if you need to kill two hours.
2.5 – Mediocre - The bad things about this movie outweigh the good. Only watch this movie if you're flipping around on TV and it's on and there is nothing else on.
2 – Bad - Just a poorly made movie that's filled with flaws. The only reason you should watch it is for background noise while you do the laundry.
1.5 – Atrocious - Whatever entertainment value this movie may have had is so buried in flaws, it is in no way worth watching.
1 - An Abomination - Watching this movie is like being dragged to the depths of hell and being tortured. It is hard for a movie to be so bad that it gets this rating.
