This department covers anything related to news, newsworthy events, special features, media events, and community programs. The department head and produces in this department would actively seek out news at LT and in the community, assemble crews and reporters, and produce segments to be aired on the channel. This department would also be assigned to cover events in the community by Mr. Allan, and produce special feature segments to promote upcoming events as requested. The department head in this position would likely spend 2-3 hours per week fulfilling his or her duties.

LTTV covers a large number of events that take place outside of Lyons Township High School or are sponsored by area organizations. We also cover things that originate at LTHS but are intended to reach out to the entire community. Below are some examples of community programming that we've covered or produced in the last couple of years:

La Grange Park "Music Under the Stars" summer concert series, various parades, musical performances at area elementary and middle schools, VFW talk shows and documentaries, and benefit concerts for local organizations.

We also produce a couple of programs on a regular basis, including "Special Reports", "A Walk in the Park", and "Book Talks".
